DNDA – Nature Consortium Volunteer Statement:

The volunteers who work to support our mission, values, history and commitment to social justice are the strength of the Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (DNDA). We seek to continuously provide a supportive, friendly and enriching environment to welcome and expand every volunteer’s range of talents. We believe that volunteers should come ready to engage in new experiences to help build and sustain a dynamic Delridge.

You and your fellow volunteers can participate in fun, hands-on conservation work led by Nature Consortium staff on any Tuesday or Saturday in West Seattle. Most work parties involve removing invasive weeds and mulching. Planting occurs in fall and winter. As part of our mission to connect people, arts, and nature, Nature Consortium hires live musicians to play in the woods during many of our work parties. Directions will be sent to you via email on the day before the work party.

What to Bring

Working out in the elements requires the right apparel. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required, even in the summer. Bring a full water bottle. We will have water available for refills. Tools, gloves, and training will be provided. We also provide granola bars, but please feel free to bring a lunch as well. All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Youth Waiver Form before participating in their first work party.
